The Wild Parrots of Telegraph Hill

While March of the Penguins may have gotten all the attention, this little documentary is far better, especially on an emotional level. Its about an unemployed musician (Mark Bittner) that has wandered aimlessly through life until he befreinds a flock of wild parrots in San Fransisco. After a time, as he studies their social interactions, he has learned their individual personalities well enough to give them names. The Parrots (Cherrie headed Conures, and one Blue Headed Conure), are the real stars of the show. The photography has been done to purposely show off the personalities of various members of the flock, as well as to show off the similarities between humans and parrots. I highly recomend this surprisingly touching movie to any animal lover, especially to bird lovers.
