"Head on:" a brutal, strong, and riveting look at modern day Germany's

4.254.138.61

Turkish community through the eyes of two bohemians.
Not an easy film to watch but if you can force yourself to witness such wanton self-destruction--- and it is instructive to see how such strange individuals live--- you will be rewarded by much more than just a satisfaction of curiosity.
Both principal actors are major talents and the director doesn't get in the way of the black love story.
The clash of cultures, the changes forced by expediency, are terrible for Turkish men but it is the women that suffer the most: they see freedom all around them, and are forced to work, but cannot gain any of the benefits of the system for themselves.
If you enjoyed "Maria Full of Grace" (I think that was the name), you really will enjoy this much better effort.
