Movies from comedy to drama to your favorite Hollyweird Star.

Australia...

...my wife and I saw this Friday night, only because we were too late for Cadillac Records and there wasn't much else to chose from.

Baz Luhrman has created an epic, at least his idea of what an epic film should be.

It contains a little bit of about everything but the kitchen sink that could be thrown in during the pre-WWII era - big cattle drive, dastardly villians, pumped-up manly hero on a horse, Pearl Harbor style bombing raid, Aboriginal wizard juju, racial injustice - and goes on for two and half hours. Best seen on the big screen.

In case you miss any of the emotional cues from the actors, the forceful music will let you know what to feel.

Nicole Kidman does a pretty good job of anchoring the drama.

The last time I recall a film being narrated by an Aboriginal boy, it was The Road Warrior, one of my all time favorites.

This isn't, although it isn't too bad.

I'd give it a B-.
