Just how much European decadence can you handle?

If great deal, then put the "Water Drops on Burning Rocks" on your very, very, very short list.
The director François Ozon hardly needs an introduction, certainly not after his "Under the Sand". Script? Based on Rainer Werner Fassbinder' play... need more introduction?

Lead actor? How about Bernard Giraudeau who sparkled in "Une affaire de goût" (A Matter of Taste). He is every bit as mnug and unforgettable in this one. And he sparlkes just as much, and the good company never hurts.

What more can I say? A gorgeous film masterfully set to great music. Made in 99, same year when Hollywood was having feats over the American Beauty... This is so sad.
