Think of this as a continuation of the linked thread from last November.
I just binge-watched the 10 episodes of season 1.

The first episode didn't really hook me. Probably because it started in the midst of the action and had the appearance of a 'Western'. The robots look and act like people. But that is just episode One.

By episode 2 you see the cycle of operations. Behind the scenes, back in the lab. Robots are called 'hosts'. They have artificial intelligence entities within them.
Actors, sitting naked on chairs, or stretched out -naked- on a surgical bed, play 'hosts' being debriefed from their last story-line and getting program updates for their next performance above ground in Westworld. We're talking USDA grade -A- soft porn. One reason to pay for premium channels like this one.

As noted elsewhere, this is ghost in the machine kind of stuff. This movie has elements of Ex Machina within it. Customers experience the most immersive virtual reality ever. It is more than just a thrill ride. This experience allows the paying customer to explore just how far he/she will go when none of societies rules apply. We viewers get to see a couple of characters discover the depths and breadth of their soul.

A continuing theme is that The 'hosts' are having flashbacks of memories that were not completely erased from previous story-lines. The 'hosts' are more than just self aware. They suffer post-tramatic stress episodes back in the lab. Lab techs become worried.

Are the robots going to revolt? Can they break all protocols within their programming and break out of the park?

This is good Sci-Fi drama for grown-ups. Violence, nudity and sexual situations abound so beware if it is or isn't your cup of tea.
