I have quiet a bit of fun with this unit some twelve years ago. Your review brings back some nice memories.

Try connecting the Tape Rec Outputs to the input of the DSP-100 instead of using the pre-outs from your main pre-amp. Then you listen back through the tape inputs. You'll get better S/N ratio and cleaner sound performance that way.
