Used to be "Saving Private Ryan" on DVD but that was before HD and Blu-Ray/HD-DVD .

It could be "King Kong" HD-DVD, impressive video, not-so-impressive audio. Or flip on Discovery or HDNet on Dishnetwork for PQ. Haven't taken the wrapper off of "Planet Earth" yet, that's suppose to be pretty good PQ wise.

I'm still looking for the HD movie with both excellent video and audio, but then again, my standards have gone up recently. So far, "Casino Royale" comes the closest to a good reference disk.

I've been consistently wow'd with HD movies with uncompressed PCM soundtracks and even with just the DTS core tracks of DTS HD MA-encoded movies. Heck. most HD movie is going to "lord it" over DVDs with regards to both PQ and AQ.
