RE: looking for a cheap 55" TV, any I should avoid? Is there a recommended brand?

I'd avoid the Apex, Polaroid, Element, there's a few more, can't recall.
But be aware, some cheap brands have no program guide at all. I have
a fairly new 32" Magnavox (bedroom) has a great picture, about as good as
my plasma....but no guide, no time readout, no program description.
This only matters if you only use over-the-air broadcasts.
