TV audio out - pretty dumb question

Although I did a search, there were too many messages to wade through. Therefore, my apologies for any repetition.

I'm getting new powered speakers for the TV that have either RCA input or 1/8" input.

Simple question: The TV has either RCA out or headphone (1/8") out. Which would probably give better signal quality?

The current external speakers are connected via headphone output.

Thanks for any information.
