'Pet Semetary': Nice kitty . . .

Posted by Billy Wonka on April 21, 2019 at 12:37:31:

Clarke and Seimetz leave the craziness of Boston to bucolic rural Maine. Nice choice. Doesn't take long before the creepy stuff starts like the neighborhood kids parading through their property in animal masks. Creepy neighbor Lithgow tells Clarke that kids have a pet cemetery they have used for generations but did not reveal what secrets the back of his property held. Tragedy strikes and Clarke, out of grief, becomes a user of the secret grounds, himself.

Much weirdness ensues.

I don't remember much about the original (or this one). But, the effects are good and its a generally well-produced product. Kudos to Clarke and Lithgow.

3.0 wonks for cast and effects
2.0 wanks for the same story spun with more production money

If you bother, wait for cable.
