'Memoir Of War': Agony of not knowing . . .

Posted by Billy Wonka on August 19, 2019 at 15:24:56:

Melanie Thierry plays Marguerite Duras (writer) whose small happiness in occupied Paris is shattered when her husband is collected by the French Gestapo. She frantically seeks out information through her "communist cell" and eventually crosses path with a high ranking collaborator (Magimel). Fighting his advances she attempts to get as much information on her husband without arousing suspicions.

Thierry plays a woman who moves from shock to outright despair while seeking to save Robert, her husband. Well acted with set-perfect art direction this is a film about the reactions of a woman and her love lost in the fog of war.
