How do you make prime time Elton John seem dull, tame, and sort of dim?...

Make a film called Rocket Man!
What a bore and mishmash of timelines, songs and reality.
Not nearly as compelling as the recent Bohemian Rhapsody (which we just thought
OK though RM makes it seem a masterpiece), nor, it seems, intended to really be a
biopic so much as the template for what will likely be a long running Broadway
Musical that will be hellaciously expensive to see. Even with the Senior discount.
Elton John was MAGNIFICENT during the years RM covers- it wasn't until after that
timeframe that the dullness set in, the music lost it's luster, the story became as null
as this movie. Besides having to hear ANYONE but Elton sing his songs is a drag,
the acting is fair at best and the script a bad joke that seems Sir Elton used as a rather
indulgent therapy session.
AND a blueprint for Broadway.
(It isn't like he HASN'T already seen his name in lights for five decades, hell, he used to wear it on his face!)
