Elton John can take his candle out of the wind, I wouldn't care

I go to a lot of movies, but never considered going to a semi bio pic about elton john. He is a fantastic showman, from the reports, and can make a good record, I own a few.

But i never considered the guy particularly interesting , again an opinion from reports. to me he is just a performer of another guy's thoughts, and a ton of people can do that just as well. He is just a top showman to me, and I prefer another style in most cases.

There is a movie about paul butterfield, a straight biography, no pun intended, that I read will make it into commercial release next year.

I saw it on limited release, and would like to see it again, it is a fine work. I mention this to give understanding to the type of musicians I consider interesting enough to carry a movie.

A white blues harmonic player out of south chicago, works his way up in the clubs to where howlin wolf's band is now his band , and then goes on to be the top rock band in the world for a short while, then loses everything to booze. His guts are all chewed up by the end, but he could still play, that was all he had left, his wife, child, wealth, health and singing voice had all split by then.

of course, it could be that i enjoy butterfield more then elton has created a bias I can't get past. After all, john attended one of the top music schools in the world, he should be accomplished, even as a drop out.
