'Altes Geld' or 'Old Money': Deliciously Deviant

Posted by Billy Wonka on March 4, 2020 at 10:18:15:

Udo Kier is the patriarch of a billionaire Austrian family whose ties to wealth and prosperity are linked to the former Third Reich. His family has had their fingers in every form of corruption and continues to profit without labor.

Rolf (Udo) finds out that he has a second form of hepatitis which means he needs a liver (lobe) pronto. Instead of proper channels (which take too long) he challenges his family to come up with a liver. The winner will inherit his entire fortune and enterprise leaving the others out in the cold.

The Rauchensteiners are the most narcissistic, selfish, self-absorbed, unfeeling people with a penchant for incest. They are without redemption! I loved them for it. The dialog and art direction are superb. The creator referred to this as "Dallas for psychos".

Bravo. This was on my list for a year and now I scold myself for taking so long to get to it.

Eight insane bedeviled episodes. A good weekend.
