We tried that one years ago, found it unwatchable, bailed out.
For someone interested in that chapter of Russian history I recommend the 2016 film "Kontributsiya" - but I don't know if it is available in translation.
Done in the typical Aratha Christie tradition it is quite entertaining, but even more interesting is the biography of its real life main character - General Pepelyaev.
The final chapters of his life were... oh, so typical of the regime, responsible for rivers of blood.
