'Out of Time' 2019: Guilty pleasure . . .

Posted by Billy Wonka on May 9, 2021 at 21:10:26:

Agent Cooper Miller tumbles out into the Mojave from 1951. He is in hot pursuit of three extraterrestrials who broke loose from an Area 51-type base. They slip from body to body (with hilarious results) in order to facilitate their mission of reporting back that Earth is a good place to have.

This is a satire of the times and a great character builder for Agent Miller and Detective Lisa of the LAPD. Blake Boyd plays his character to perfection with all the positives of the "upright 50s" and an honorable federal officer. Detective Lisa is a world-weary cop who has boyfriend problems and, at first, can't handle the "G-man" and his 50s code of honor.

Lots of chuckles and laughs as Blake Boyd and Nadege August play their roles with deadly seriousness as they pursue the body-snatching trio across LA.

This film is off-center and that's the way I like them.

The only trailer is on IMDb.
