the Italian film, "A Chiara." A 15-year old girl slowly realizes her father isn't what she thought, he has a secret life that she soon realizes is known to many people, but kept from her.
The film is set and filmed in Calabria and all actors are local and unprofessional--- and of the same family. However, don't expect anything "amateurish;" the performances are absolutely compelling and natural.
The film isn't about women, per se, but it does show that as the men go about their singular occupation, it impacts them just as violently.
