IMO, Afleck was perfect for this role.

His demeanor is disaffected, which fits this autistic type very well I think. Not in all autistic cases, but this was believable within limits of having to have some personal drama from the character.

The story was weakest in developing some background info about him; viewers had to connect some vague dots here and there. Even on second viewing, the lines were a little hazy, but walking away with some mystery still hanging out there made it more interesting.

I thought it was a refreshing new take on the superhero/antihero theme. I liked it a lot.
