Movies versus miniseries

Movies by definition are short( one and a half hours to more than 2 hours) and by design have a conclusion.
The miniseries is made in installments of about one hour each and go for 10 to 100 episodes.Myself, I prefer a movie that comes to some conclusion. If a miniseries ( like breaking bad) is well written it can survive a long run, but some others seem to struggle to keep the audiences' interest going. The longer a series goes, the better the character development and the story becomes deeper and more defined.
Are there any short series that get it over with in less than 10 episodes?
