'ANNA': Bride of Wick

Posted by Billy Wonka on June 23, 2019 at 18:15:42:

This action-packed murder-fest rang up almost as many bodies as the current Wick genocide. Sasha Luss played the pretty KGB assassin who was earning her way to retirement. Mirren promised her five years and Murphy (CIA) promise her one year for a BIG FAVOR.

This was much like Wick but in a more cold-blooded way. Anna was the aggressor and was rarely defending herself. Near the end, there was a monumental homage to 'Old Boy' that the astute viewer will recognize.

Anna is not for awards, great acting, nor original plot lines. It's about pretty skin punching, stabbing, and shooting her way to freedom. The Trifecta was missed from the lack of car chases. Too bad.
