"The Girl in the Fog:" Italian Alps a beautiful setting

for a chilling account of yes, yet another disappeared teen.

But this one (2017) stars Toni Servillo ("The Great Beauty") and he creates a very strange, post-modernist detective. It truly is a bizarre characterization, with the aging detective sometimes oddly detached from the goings-on, but at other times intense and overpowering.

Of course, the few possible plot resolutions have been exhausted long before this film, but that's not the point of this film. Frankly, I had a hard time locating one, but I enjoyed the search.

For those who like mucho violenca, this won't do it for you. If, however, you want a more cerebral--- though by no means Agatha Christie-ish--- experience, cue this one up. I got it through my local library and I suspect you'll also find it at yours.
