The Formula: Scott dominates Brando . . .

I had not seen this before and was surprised at what a buffon-like role Brando played. George C. absolutely overpowered (in a good way) everyone else in the film with true leading man chutzpah.
Made in 1980, some of the dialogue hits home at what's going on today concerning gas price manipulation and terrorism. It might be worth a redux for those who saw it long ago.
The premise is that WWII German scientists had developed the perfect catalyst for turning coal into various forms of fuel. The formula had been protected from the world by Big Oil and any attempt to publish or make it known was always met with certain death--just like the "water engine". 8^) (Brando's oil company held the formula for the future as they bought up all of the coal in the country.)
This film really shows its age but its message is still pertinent in today's world.
