What's happened to film? Almost no actors of merit are left;

"game boy" stories with interchangeable plots and actors are the norm;, and Fx rules the day and the box office.
If you're a studio head, you've got to smile.
Nothing but gravy.
No expensive writers or actors, anymore. Just technicians. And a few hacks to "adapt" graphic novels for the screen. No need even to hire someone to write a score, just pay royalties (or not, many groups like the publicity).
Meanwhile, the frogs in the audience don't know they've been boiled.
"Faster pussycat, FASTER!" is the call of the day as meth-paced cinema conquers all.
