Want to visit another world, far stranger than Hollywood and Hollywood-like crapola

that costs gazillions?
Rent, "Hukkle," from Hungarian original Gyorgi Palfi, director. This bizarre little film will transport you to a very strange world indeed with a bit of Lynch in it: strange visions of snakes, moles, bees, pigs and other animals are juxtaposed with commonplace villagers in a small agrarian community in Hungary. The quotidian existence is interesting in itself, especially considering the considerable artistic qualities of the cinematography and editing (there is zero dialogue....), but then bodies start appearing, a policeman starts investigating, and the resolution is completely unexpected.
This, gentlemen, is art. A totally unique way of looking at human existence and a talent quite as individualistic as his countryman Bela Tarr.
Please, consider this a shameless plug for Hungarian film; some of the greats of world cinema hail from it.
Palfi has made only one other feature film and it is very, very dark. I plan on seeing that as soon as possible after witnessing this genius at work.
The human condition, to those with sharp enough minds to see it and courage enough to show it, is plenty strange--- stranger than any world the human imagination could envision, such as in a Stars War, LOTR, or Avatar.
Frankly, I'm a little shocked "Hukkle" isn't more well known. It makes "Erasherhead" look like the work of an adolescent.
