The Road...

Posted by afilado on December 25, 2009 at 16:58:25:

.. a dull, dullard dud of a movie. A saccharine-scattered, unlikable depressive for which I predict disappearance as only sweet, just desert.

It would be a high compliment to compare this movie to the likes of The Postman or Waterworld.

I was tempted to walk. But as a serious filmster - and in Tinear's vernacular - I soldiered on. At least I can feel good about that. After all, I have a nose , too.

And I laughed where I wasn't supposed to.

Vigo's vanity preformance is so wooden I'm shocked into a confused state of regard for his abilities.

Robert Duval pulls out some of his old stock in trade and manages to be the only honest and bright spot in the film. Not hard to do.

It's one of those movies that exceeds disappointment. I left feeling gypped.

Go ahead and see it or be content with reading somebody else's bad opinion. Same result for you, I bet.

If there's yet any doubt - with more enthusiasm than I had for the movie - I give this a thumbs down.
