"The Other Guys" unexpected delight

Posted by Brian A on August 8, 2010 at 07:13:41:

Last night the wife and I suddenly found ourselves with nothing to do and took off. About the only movie showing that had any of our interest was "The other guys." Was I surprised! Many laugh out loud moments, and that included the whole theater. People applauded at the end. Lots of good, snappy dialogue. Funny insults flying all over the place.

What amazed me was how the two main characters had complete story arcs. After a prologue, it displayed their problems, then by the end of the movie it showed how they grew and overcame their initial internal problems.

The end was marred by a dump about the end of the housing boom where so many executive made tons of money and how large the tarp debt was etc. It was done in cartoon over the closing credits. Might have been Okay, but THE STINKING PRODUCERS AND ACTORS MAKE FAR MORE THAN THE CEO'S EVER DID. Okay, rant over.
