"The Adjustment Bureau": Dumbed-down Inception with Love . . .

Posted by mr grits on March 4, 2011 at 17:09:45:

Not too bad and not so ridiculously complicated you can't enjoy the film moment by moment. Damon is New York's 'bad boy' politician running for senate when he accidentally meets Blount on a bus. Soon strange men start appearing and things change---and not for the good of budding romance either.

Pretty soon Damon meets the guys in the hats and learns he's accidentally of course with his life as planned by the 'chairman'. He is told he needs to forget about her because they both have bigger fish to fry and their union will make them foil each other's potential. Damon, being a hard-headed fellow won't accept that answer and charges ahead. This necessitates the call for 'The Hammer' or heavy-hitter Terrence Stamp to put the last wet blanket on this love affair.

Twists and turns abound and not everybody is on the same page--not even Damon's assigned agent. Nice use of special effects (not too many) and a very familiar feel to the action via "Inception".

Good way to kill some time on an afternoon.
