"Enter the Void," by cine bad-boy, Gaspar Noe (Vic, he's really Argentine!).

This film is unclassifiable. It can be argued that it is the most beautiful of films, and also one of the ugliest. The light show scenes rival "2001" without copying them. The radical shifting of narrative angle, outside the main character and then into his "spirit" is amazing. This is as close to tripping as one can get w/out smoking DMT (called the businessman's high in the 60s because this psychedelic took users up and then back down in a couple of hours).
NO film lover will ignore Mr. Noe: his is a unique voice and as unsettling as was Pasolini's, in his day.
SPOILER
An American who casually deals drugs in Tokyo is visited by his sister with whom he shared a catastrophic event from which both are still traumatized. Another such occurrence explodes their world.
