Win Win vs Source Code...

Posted by mkuller on May 7, 2011 at 23:30:27:

...last weekend my wife wanted to see Win Win, but I convinced her to see Source Code instead.

This weekend being Mother's Day, I took her to see Win Win.

Which is the better film?

Source Code, starring Jake Gyllenhall is a sci-fi action/love filmn where he has to keep going back for 8 minutes to find a train bomber while falling in love with Michelle Moynihan.

There is a lot of action, suspense and explosions. The ending is a conundrum which challenges you to think about space. time and alternative dimensions.

I'd give it a C+.

Win Win stars Paul Giamatti playing the usual schlub as a an attorney/family man with questionable ethics coaching a high schol wrestling team. Along comes a new kid who was a champion wrestler and many complications ensue.

I'd give it a B-.

So Win Win is the better film and my wife was right.

But don't tell her I said so.

Happy Mother's Day.
