Last Temptation of Christ Criterion blu-ray

My problem with this movie is that I read the Kazantzakis book, which is brilliant. I believe Scorsese misfired in many ways. But maybe I should give it another try and not compare it to the book so directly. The price isn't too bad on the preorder. No doubt Criterion will do a great job with the picture and sound.

I still believe the power of the book remains largely untapped, and someone else should take a whack at adapting it for film. But with that comes all the controversy. I don't think a major studio or an established director would want to take that on.
