Media players

We used to have the Roku on wireless, and I had serious problems with quality. I measured the speed - it was about 4.5Mbps. It was close to 12 on LAN wire, so I switched to it, it was trivial as the cable was already there.

Since I did, it became like a totally different service, and now I get HD anywhere where HD is available.

I suppose I could upgrade my router, but I need all that like I need a hole in my head... what I now have is working, I get beautiful picture and we are happy.

I also tried the Sony media player box, and even though I think it does give slightly better picture (as it should, being almost two years newer), its interface truly sucks, Roku slaughters it hands down.

So at this point I am not sure which one to keep. Perhaps someone with experience in such boxes could provide his insight. Ideally I would like to have the Sony quality with Roku interface... possible?
