"Liz and Dick" slammed before it gets a chance.

The reviewer for the San Francisco Chronicle is trying to prepare us for the agony to come -- Lohan playing Liz Taylor; Grant Bowler as Burton; in a tv film showing this weekend.

As reported, it seems to err (among several faults) in recreating old film sets from the Liz and Dick era, which were expensive and made for those specific films. The ones for this film are not up to par, but why should they be? That's a lot of money, and they were not made for those films -- just backdrops for this one.

But it should be worth a view just to see Lohan. We hear a lot about her, but don't see much of her. Here's our chance. I have to say, she ain't no Elizabeth Taylor, but she's easy to look at.
