Grace of Monaco

Posted by Bill the K on June 15, 2014 at 21:11:49:

A five inch taller Nicole Kidman gracefully enacts the role by the side of a surprisingly lean and not so short Prince Rainier. The French threaten to capture the little kingdom and Grace invites all the rulers of Europe including de Gaulle for a Red Cross function and promptly snubs the general. She makes an hour long speech in English with not a word of french. Even McNamara who had come as representive of Pres Kennedy makes a wisecrack to the general. All ends well with the rulers of the tax haven pursuing their hedonic lifestyle. Hitchcock had turned up to invite Grace to return to Hollywood to act in Marnie. He had to settle for Tippy Hedren. A good movie for those who havent seen any Grace Kelly movies or her pictures in Life magazine.
