'Point Break': Stay home and enjoy Swayze and Reeves . . . .

Posted by Billy Wonka on December 28, 2015 at 13:19:34:

Things weren't so complicated when the first version of PB came out. Crazed surfers committed crimes for fun and profit. They wanted to surf around the world. Now, the Millennial Version wants to talk about the Earth and what we take from her and how we should pay her back creating harmony and sustainability. (Enter UN ghostwriter.) There's even a punch about saving the whales so virtually nothing is left out.

Now, this is an adrenaline junkies film. Plenty of action, high-speed action to keep you tensed. Well done and the major player of this film--the only worthy part of the film.

Luke Bracey (Keanu Reeves) seemed a bit under powered in his thespiotics and Ray Winstone as a Brit FBI agent seemed implausible. More implausible is the idea that Bracey was allowed to hang with these greenie criminals for as long as he did--but plot holes are tertiary to the stunts and CGI.

Pretty negative, huh? Well, if you like X-Games and long rushes then this is for you to see. If you are tired of greenie politics in a not-so-subtle way then stay home and wait for cable.
