Collossus: The Forbin Project

Posted by user510 on August 6, 2017 at 15:02:09:

I think it was BH in central that brought up the movie title. I remembered having seen this movie on TV some few years after its debut (1970) in theaters.

It plays like a thriller with no real action. No heroes. No battles. But there are emergencies. Big ones. Any rush to save the day becomes flummoxed. There is a super-computer named Collossus that, once activated, becomes self-aware and starts making decisions for the betterment of all humanity on Earth.

I recall enjoying this film when I first saw it. I found a dvd copy over ebay and bought it so I could see it again. I suspect this is the only way. I could not find it in any of my cable service options.

Now that I've seen it again, I think it deserves to be in the library along side some other good and serious sci-fi movies.
