RE: 'JACO' documentary on Jaco Pastorius, a treasure trove of interviews and information from the best jazz musicians

Posted by Dr Phibes on October 14, 2017 at 01:17:20:

I agree, it was a informative, balanced documentary that was really well done. So many music documentaries over-celebrate and they border on propaganda - but not 'Jaco".

I saw Weather Report twice and the Jaco project "Word of Mouth" in a small-ish venue.

In the Word of Mouth group (at least at the gig I saw) Jaco's manic energy was almost was distracting to the music, but he was still amazing. The first Weather Report show was perfection. Unforgettably beautiful and the music was prioritized over showboating. Jaco's voice was always brilliant.

Have a great day -Jim
