The Magnificent Ambersons 1942

Somehow I hadn't seen The Magnificent Ambersons until a few days ago while revisiting the Orson Welles catalog. Sure, I had read about the infuriating studio editing (Welles didn't speak to Robert Wise the rest of his life) and loss of original footage - but I still wasn't prepared for the ending that was grafted on like a painted mustache on the Mona Lisa.
Too bad, I thought it was a wonderful film with the Welles touch. I love how Welles genius in radio and theatre was applied to his films in a groundbreaking way.Have a great day!
