"You Were Never Really Here" had it's moments...

I don't want to be a a contrarian but I think "You Were Never Really Here"
wasn't as awful as some of the posts portray ...I thought Joaquin Phoenix gave a simmering, intense performance and the action scenes were satisfying. I didn't care for the subject manner and I didn't care for the ending (the imaginary coffee shop suicide and Nina's apparent psychological recovery). But overall it was suspenseful and the non-linear storytelling had me captivated.
I'm not saying it was a fantastic work of art that stands out in Hollywood history- because NOTHING these days does. But I thought "You Were Never Really Here" was good, suspenseful and the performances were good to outstanding.
Has anyone seen "We Need to Talk About Kevin"? Lynne Ramsay directed that too. I liked it.
Have a great day
