Cuba has

an educated populace. How has that turned out ? Friends of ours traveled to Cuba and were able to interact with a lot of locals. They had interesting conversations with many and were surprised at the level of education and knowledge possessed by the locals. On the other hand most were employed in menial jobs provided by the Govt and could barely support families.

Our education system would do much better if more HS students were encouraged to learn trades instead of mainstreamed into debt and a worthless college degrees. The ability to credibly debate Rousseau should not automatically entitle someone to a $15-$20/hour wage.
