'UFO': For math geeks only . . .

Posted by Billy Wonka on September 6, 2018 at 22:33:02:

David Strathairn This small film delves into higher mathematics to "prove" the existence of an UFO sighted over an airport (Cincinnati). Two college kids hear of the sighting on the news and decide to investigate on their own. With some clever phone calls and a ton of binary calculations they verify the true size and future location of the UFO.

Gillian Anderson plays the mathematics professor that is adversarial at first then captivated by the kids work. David Strathairn plays a brainy FBI investigator that pretty much specializes in this kind of thing and plays an enemy until near the end.

Notable notes: 1) they discuss that we should be a Type 1 civilization withing the next 100 years (one world government--no borders), 2) we are not alone. So, this was a breakthrough film for millennial believers. The UN and space men!

Small, small film that is not for most people. Redbox.

2.5 wonks for trying
2 wanks for low velocity cast and story
