New BD players coming out

Posted by Jack G on August 31, 2007 at 08:56:17:

Several new BD players are coming out-announced at IFA yesterday.
Sony BDP-S500: Will do advanced audio, and be a higher end player, but will not be video 1.1 compliant. Price is unknown, but will be more expensive than the S300.
Sharp Aqueos BD-HP20: Nice looking player. Not sure of the price. Not 1.1 compliant.
Apparently, Bendai isn't going to be making players anytime soon. They did have a prototpye on display, but said the new specs are an issue.
This is unfortunate, since more cheap players need to be made, if the masses are going to adopt either format.
Samsung is coming out with the 1400 and the 2400 as well.
All of which will be shipping before the end of October.
enjoy,
Jack
