And nice to see you on this forum, too! I downloaded a copy of the instruction manual for the Sony BDP-S300 Blu-ray disc player, and read through the setup instructions. It's a lot clearer to me now. One thing I didn't realize was that you can use this player with any type of TV as long as it has at least an S-video jack. You won't get HD images through that connection, of course, but I had been under the impression that BD players could only be used with an HD display, which is not the case (at least not with the S300). It seems that I could just replace my 9000ES with the S300 and it will play SD DVDs just fine at 480P, plus I will get the bonus of being able to play BDs at 1080i. Now I wonder how the S300 rates as an 'ordinary' 480P player?

BTW, I am also planning to get an HD display, but I was just curious if I could even use a BD player at all if I happen to get one before getting the display.
