Speakers OK to go in Ceiling?
Posted by sammie on March 18, 2010 at 08:18:38:
Can the 5 or 7 speakers making up the audio portion of a home theater go in the ceiling: 3 just in front of seating area and two behind? Plus, maybe one on each side for potentially a 7 speaker hookup. Or, is this a really bad idea?
Why do I ask? We just bought a new home with two ceiling speakers above and just behind seating area (couch) in downstairs family room. I'd replace these speakers with really good in ceiling speakers as well as add more of course. Unfortunately, entire wall where TV will go is all built ins with fireplace in center and spot on right for TV, so really no place for center channel, especially, but other any other bookshelf monitors or in wall speakers as well. And, I don't want free standing speakers crowding floor.
Thanks!
