precursor to blu audio

Posted by Joe Murphy Jr on May 18, 2010 at 21:59:04:

Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers will be releasing an audio Blu-ray very soon (June 29). While it's not the official Blu-ray 3.0 Audio format, it is a step in that direction. Tom Petty makes a excellent statement about high quality audio in the linked article ("...to disregard the hi-fi end of what we do is wrong."). All musicians need to make this a priority. The disc will be available with 24/48 PCM stereo and 5.1 DTS-HD Master Audio tracks for listeners.
