help finding reviews of cost-no-object 55" + monitor

Posted by petew on January 12, 2011 at 15:48:39:

hi folks,

if I were hanging around here I'd tell posters like me to "go search"

but I haven't been around for years, and I'm not having much luck with the Google (cnet review doesn't seen to be interested in movies ???? none of the reviews I've read talk about the "movie" experience -- they seem much more interested in looking for "noise" and "flaws" and "blooming" (whatever that is)...

what I'm looking for is a 55" or larger

MONITOR

Yes, I want a MONITOR: I don't want a "TV"

I am not at all interested in "TV" --- NO SPEAKERS PLEASE !!!

I do not want a bezel at all -- but if it can't be avoided, it must be black or dark grey, not glossy, no logo or a logo that can be removed, no lights, knobs, buttons, etc...

would prefer a very flat mount and lightweight.

cost no object.

objective: i like to watch movies, and i don't want the mechanicals to say "look at me" in any way at all. i have all the audio -- i just want a nice monitor that doesn't get in the way. off-axis viewing is important (the wife won't let me put the couch where it belongs).

so ... it's probably a plasma ... 55 to 65 inches ... but they are so fat and heavy ...

anyone direct me to overweb reviews ?

cheers,

petew
