Sony KV-36XBR help

Posted by itsthemusic on April 28, 2011 at 10:43:18:

My great 245 pound Sony CRT from 1998 just went on the blink. Sound but no pix. Screen is sort of dark orange/blue with orange horizontal lines. Cable box checks out. Can't get a tech who will offer a "maybe" on the phone. They all want to come to my house for$$. Of course I can't bring it to them it weighs 245 lbs. Can anyone on the forum venture a "forget it" or" that's an easy fix" so I can buy a plasma that I can lift or fix the Sony and get on with my life?
Thanks
Bob
