Anyone have experience with Panasonic 42ST30?

Posted by mcdmgb on August 6, 2011 at 13:02:26:

This is my first post here as I hang out on the vinyl and vintage boards. I am having to replace my 25 year old RCA tube set and after a quick immersion into basic HDTV I think that its boiled down to this plasma set since it seems to have gotten good reviews, and there was nothing LCD-LED in the price range that wasn't damned with faint praise.

However I am seeing some reports of a brightness fluculation issue. Does nyone know anything about this. Also I came across something about needing to condition the panel prior to using it the set; something called a D Nice panel preperation. Do I need to do this procedure or is the unit's performance okay right out of the box?

Any imput would be appreciated.

Mike
