I didn't know there was a subtitle shift function. The Oppo has that? I'll have to play around with that.
O waited until there was a hardware pact for the Oppo. I had one of their DVD players, but didn't have room for another box under my TV.
Yes, the 83 came without all region ability-the powers that be in the BDA (read Sony) wouldn't let them do it. What's funny, is that part of the hardware hack/patch plugs into an empty socket who's sole purpose appears to be used by said hardware.
