Panasonic Blu Ray DMP-BD55 Firmware Update Problem

Posted by Visitor on April 17, 2012 at 18:10:08:

I downloaded the firmware update for this player, copied it to a CD-R and loaded it into the player per the instructions. The player recognizes it as an update, however doesn't load it. I've e-mailed Panasonic and asked them to make a firmware disc for me. Is there anything else I could try at this point? Do the newer players that have internet access to play Netflix movies, etc. have a better system of firmware updates right off the net? Are there any newer players that automatically download firmware updates off the net? Would I need anything besides my existing wireless router? TIA
