TV System Connectivity

What I love about our old plasma is the external tuner box, where all the connections to the sources are made. From there a single FireWire goes to the monitor.

With all that HDMI stuff, is there a possible similar solution, so I would not need to fish multiple signal cables to the TV? Some hub device?
